Hello everyone!

Since it’s been so long between journal postings a lot has transpired. I wrecked my car, got a new one, got promoted to manager, resigned my position and took a manager post for a franchise Hooters! I’m still working on a project of mine- most of it is sketch work, a couple of pieces are ready for color:)

With so much occurring on this planet it’s only a mater of time before the folks who have control lose that control. What a sad person is the one who wants even more control- sounds like that person is insecure and has no self-control.

So I’ve been exercising some of my Constitutional rights as of late- there’s a reason for the First Amendment. And the Second Amendment protects the First…

Of course.

I've been away for too long, and there's so much to tell.

First off: I am performing auto mechanics on my car- blew the head gasket so I have to go in and open it up, take the head to TDC on compression stroke and pull the head. Once that's done I take it to the shop for cleaning resurfacing and pressure check before I put it back on. While the head gets worked on I can replace hoses and drain the oil. When the head comes back from machining I can put the gasket on, button it down and put all the fluids back in. It would have been done sooner if I had a garage and all the tools to rework the engine. Grateful I'm working on a Honda! The drawback is that I have to wait for the snow to melt and the weather to warm up a bit or else I'd be out there and not here composing a new journal entry.

Next: Dragon Age: Inquisition! Already played through once, going for a second round! There's so much stuff to do! Players get totally immersed in a world that feels like different places on planet earth without leaving home! I'm still stoked about the game because of locales, dialogue choices, characters and CRAFTING. Sure, gathering resources may seem like a tedious thing- the results of forging heavy armor from Silverite are just extraordinary!

Also: I have taken up model building again. I started a kit and detailed it to the nines, and all I have to do is tighten it up and apply decals. It took me less time than I thought it would- seems like I never forgot the skills, and the eye for detail needed the practice.

There have been a lot of changes where I work. People move on, sure. The management has changed, the menu changed too- and we're supposed to have another menu change soon or else there wouldn't be a meeting for it this weekend. I just dislike making nachos in a chicken joint.

And...my birthday is coming up. next Thursday. I don't FEEL old, and I certainly don't LOOK old. And I have a birthday twin- so I decided to be nice because we share a birthday and ordered cupcakes and drew some artwork. Taking inspiration from 40's era noseart, I drew something similar- I hope to finish soon and post results here- and sinced I have a deadline, let's all hope I can finish on time....!

"Corbin Dallas?"

Dallas: "No, I am a meat popsicle."

So here I am reviewing the stuff passing through my message center when I stumble along to my page and see 10006 pageviews. I really should thank everyone who crossed digital paths with me. I actually have some sort of idea of what to do to commemorate the moment. I'm actually working on a little something, and I have been flirting with the Lara Croft/Tomb Raider franchise. I was one to actually take my time and wait for things to level out after the hype. So I eventually drew one piece, and then I chose to try another, based on a girl I know. It's slowly coming along- I really don't want to rush. I also want to revamp my pantheon, to show my improvement and redecorate my walls with gorgeous colorful images- I'd like to cover my room with my art- it's incentive for people to come see me and look at the art I finished and framed :)

In the real world, I have a couple of issues to tackle: I have to start from square one to get my license to drive. For reasons I'd rather not detail, I need to apply, take the test, and take the practical. I hope to be on the road by mid-month. And...I'm looking at the Mosin-Nagant 91/30- as not just a collector's piece, but as something practical to take to the range...

Well, I'm close to 10000 PV's. I shall draw something fitting for the event when it goes over 10k.

Ideas are welcome- I might have something in mind to commemorate...

Almost ready to get back on the road- have to start all over to get my license. Thankfully I can waive the alcohol and drug safety cert- I also was in the system prior....

So I will be on the road very soon- later peeps!

Spring Cleaning

2 min read
Today I decided to gradually phase out my art here. I still have some of the original work- I just need to upload some new work and give things a fresher look. Coupled with the fact I have a lot of stuff here, and it doesn't get traffic- so I am minimizing my gallery.

I have stuff to do....nothing I can't handle though. It would be nice to just start everything with a clean slate, with only the next day to look forward. I have bills to pay, and it does suck- though I am pretty sure I will have one of them paid down and managed before the year ends. Credit card debt is NO JOKE. Once it gets manageable, I am going to get credit card offers in the mail- more than what I get now.

At that point, the insurance on my car, rent and my cellphone are my only bills to the business entities. The elimination of one debt will allow me to pay down a government debt I owed a while back and pay it a little faster.

This is the Year of the Horse, which means I would love to travel again. Even a road trip is preferable to staying in the area. Of course, I do want to escape for good where the tax burden is light, the standard of living is reasonable, and the national government isn't saddled with a debt which exceeds its annual GDP....
